Every interval on this site traces to a document, carries a review date, and can be
challenged by any reader. This page explains each of those promises.
Sourcing
Intervals come from the maintenance schedules manufacturers publish for each model year:
owner's manuals, warranty and maintenance guides, and scheduled maintenance booklets.
Recall data comes from the federal NHTSA database. Cost figures are broad national ranges
for independent shops, stated as ranges because that is what they are.
We re-express everything in our own structure and words. Where a manufacturer's claim
deserves context, such as a fluid marketed as lifetime, we say so plainly and label the
difference between the factory position and common shop practice.
The review date
Every vehicle page shows the date its data was last reviewed and the sources consulted.
Pages awaiting final verification against the printed manual say so on the page and are
excluded from search indexing until a person has signed off on every figure.
Data older than eighteen months without re-review gets flagged internally and eventually
removed from search rather than left to rot. A stale answer presented confidently is worse
than no answer.
What we do not do
We do not copy tables or wording from any manual, we do not scrape licensed professional
databases, and we do not publish a vehicle page unless it has real, vehicle-specific
content behind it. We are not affiliated with any manufacturer, and vehicle names appear
here only to identify the vehicles themselves.
Some parts links earn this site a commission. Those links are marked, the relationship is
disclosed above every set of them, and they point at retailer search results rather than
specific parts we cannot verify fit your exact vehicle.
Corrections
Wrong maintenance data can cost someone an engine, so corrections outrank everything else
we work on. Every vehicle page carries a report link that reaches a monitored inbox, and
confirmed errors get fixed and re-reviewed ahead of any other work.
The final word on any interval is the manual in your glovebox. This site exists to make
that information legible and comparable, not to replace it.
