Subaru Outback maintenance schedules
All five Outback years are the fifth generation: FB25 four or EZ36 six, Lineartronic CVT, standard AWD. The schedule turns faster than rivals, with 6,000-mile oil and rotations, 60,000-mile plugs, and a 30-month brake fluid clock.
Two money items define the hub: the CVT, with its extended warranty history and its appetite for fluid attention despite the lifetime label, and the tires, which the AWD system insists on wearing evenly. Rotations on schedule are driveline protection here, not tire care.
