Honda CR-V maintenance schedules
The CR-V splits at 2017 in our coverage. Fourth-generation trucks run the naturally aspirated 2.4L K24; fifth-generation trucks add the 1.5L turbo on most trims while the LX keeps the 2.4L through 2019. All use a CVT on Honda HCF-2 fluid and the Maintenance Minder in place of a fixed chart.
The ownership question that separates the years is oil dilution on the 1.5L turbo in cold climates. Short-trip winter drivers should favor the earlier oil intervals and watch the dipstick monthly, a habit the 2.4L does not demand.
