03 / The year in context
The 2018 Accord runs the tenth-generation turbo lineup: a 1.5L with a CVT on volume trims and a detuned Type R derived 2.0L with a 10-speed automatic above it. The Maintenance Minder times services, with oil typically near 7,500 miles and the familiar Honda sub-items beyond it.
This generation deleted the old V6 timing belt job, which removes the single most expensive scheduled service an Accord used to carry. In its place, the things worth attention are fluid specificity across three transmissions and the appetite of the 1.5L for short-trip fuel dilution in cold weather.
Brake fluid stays on the three-year clock, coolant is first due near 100,000 miles, and plugs arrive around the same point. For a mid-size sedan the routine costs sit closer to a Civic than to the old V6 Accord.
Shorter intervals
Frequent short trips, towing, dusty roads, extreme temperatures, and long idling shorten the intervals. The severe column in the table above shows by how much; the toggle in the mileage check applies it.
Check severe-use timing04 / Worth knowing
Every tenth-generation Accord engine is chain driven. The timing belt that defined V6 Accord ownership is gone from this schedule entirely.
The 1.5L turbo pairs with a CVT, the 2.0L turbo with a 10-speed automatic, and both offered a 6-speed manual early on. Three transmissions means three different fluids; confirm before buying.
The 1.5L turbo carries the same cold-climate oil-dilution caveat as the Civic and CR-V: short winter trips call for earlier oil changes and a monthly dipstick check.
Early 10-speed cars picked up software updates for low-speed shift behavior. A dealer can confirm whether a given VIN has them applied.
05 / Cost outlook
Estimated from this schedule over five years or 60,000 miles of normal driving. Parts, labor rates, location, and condition all move the total; treat these as planning figures.

08 / Common questions
The published interval is every 7,500 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first. Under severe conditions such as short trips, towing, dust, or extreme temperatures, the interval drops to 3,750 miles.
Every available engine, the 1.5L I4 Turbo (L15BE) and the 2.0L I4 Turbo (K20C4), uses a timing chain. There is no scheduled timing belt replacement.
1.5L I4 Turbo (L15BE): 0W-20, 3.7 quarts with filter. 2.0L I4 Turbo (K20C4): 0W-20, 4.6 quarts with filter. Confirm the grade printed in the owner's manual before buying.
The schedule calls for spark plugs every 100,000 miles. Minder sub-item 4, typically near 100,000 miles with iridium plugs.
Plan on CVT fluid every 50,000 miles, or 25,000 miles under severe use. Use Honda HCF-2 only. Minder sub-item 3; severe use and towing move it near 25,000 miles.
Engine coolant is first due at 100,000 miles, then every 50,000 miles. The specified coolant is Honda Type 2 (blue).
Repeated trips under about five miles, extended idling, stop-and-go traffic in heat, dusty or gravel roads, towing, and sustained sub-freezing starts. If a few of those describe a typical week, use the severe column in the table above; most manufacturers write their fine print around exactly that kind of driving.
